A View From the Trenches

In 2003, Sergeant Joanne Archambault (Ret.) founded End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) after noticing a critical need for training in sexual assault investigations.  For the past fourteen years, EVAWI has worked to create a training organization unmatched by any other in this country.

EVAWI has numerous Board members serving in the capacity of Director, Advisory, and Associate. As a working Board, these dedicated professionals serve on a number of committees to help advance our mission which is to inspire and educate those who respond to gender-based violence, equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to support victims and hold perpetrators accountable.  We work hard to promote victim-centered, multidisciplinary collaboration, which strengthens the response of the criminal justice system, other professionals, allies, and the general public -- making communities safer.

The Media Outreach Committee has created this blog for the purpose of providing a landing space for our members to share tips, tools, insight, and experience into the world of working as allied professionals with the collaborative goal of ending gender-based violence.  Our hope is to provide support to our allies, resources to future allies, and a greater understanding of gender-based violence to the general public.
